Imran Musa Zangi & Aqua Congas will perform in Jazz Dock.

Percussionist Imran Zangi has been active on the Czech music scene for 40 years. Among the many groups with whom he has performed and recorded, we can mention Trio Jana Koubková, Yo Yo band, minus123minut or Monkey Business. The music for this evening will be very varied and stylistically oscillates between soul, funk, pop and jazz. Imran Musa Zangi & Aqua Congas is a new musical formation that falls between the genres of fusion, funk and Latin. The project is built on the foundations of the rhythm section of father and son, who together released their first album Dárek (Gift) in the autumn of 2022. The idea for the album and its actual realisation was, as the title suggests, a gift from Filip Zangi to his father Imran Zangi. After its release and christening at the Jazz Dock club, Imran and Filip decided to form the large musical formation Aqua Congas, whose repertoire combines not only songs from this album, but also a number of other compositions whose emphasis on the rhythmic component has the power to lift the audience from the comfort of their chairs.
