Another Warsaw edition of Folk Metal Night - one of the biggest folk metal events in Poland. This time, on the occasion of Dziady, you will be able to hear Runika, Merkfolk and Weljar.
Runika is a Warsaw band with charismatic female vocals, playing folk-inspired melodies in a strong metal setting. On stage, they combine mysticism with the energy of the four elements, transporting listeners to a time of epic battles, lavish feasts by the fire, mysteries enchanted in statues and unusual creatures hiding in the woods. Merkfolk was formed in early 2013 on the initiative of siblings Irmina and Rafał. The band's name, loosely translated (from Norwegian), means 'carrying folk'. Merkfolk's songs are catchy melodies, played by accordion and fiddle, and a heavy sound of guitars and drums, laced with a female growl. Weljar, on the other hand, is a project inspired by Slavic times and shamanism, full of longing for closeness to nature and the primal power inherent in it. They create melancholic music rooted in folk and ambient.
