The Ocean est un groupe de post-metal allemand, originaire de Berlin. Le groupe est fondé en 2001 par le guitariste Robin Staps. Cependant, le premier line-up stable du groupe date de 2009 lors des sessions d'enregistrement pour les albums Heliocentric et Anthropocentric.
