Informace o koncertu
Niogi is an Israeli instrumental band, playing original compositions, combining acoustic instruments and various synths. Core members include Omri Abramov (EWI and Saxophones) and Guy Shkolnik (Piano, Synths and Roli Seaboard), both compose the music for the band.
After 6 years of composing together and collaborating with various musicians, Niogi is coming up with a new Dynamic Duo project, where both bandleaders take their musical sensitivities to the edge. The bond that evolved throughout the years between the two is achieving a new exciting angle, shifting between melodies and sounds, rhythmic bass-lines, electronic layers and beats.
Their new album, involving guest appearances on percussion and vocals and combining middle eastern influences with world rhythms and layers of sounds crafted precisely and delicately, will be recorded this coming December.
In 2016 Niogi released it’s debut album ‘Landing’ (Alessa Records), with bassist Per Mathisen and drummer Utsi Zimring, recorded and mixed by legendary sound engineer Jan Erik
Kongshaug at Rainbow Studio, Oslo. The Album raised great attention from both promoters and media, including a hailing 4-star review from "All About Jazz". Since its release, Niogi has been playing numerous clubs and festivals all over Europe (Ingolstädter Jazztage - DE, Bohemia
Jazzfest - CZ, Jazz Festival Steyr - AT, Jazz in the Park - RO, Vilnius Mama Jazz - LT, and many
more...)
