XX-lecie Progresji: BOKKA + Tides From Nebula

Triple celebration at Progresja club.

This will be not only a special, but even a historic evening for music fans who have been supporting the Polish music scene for years. The band BOKKA, celebrating its 10th anniversary, and Tides From Nebula, celebrating 15 years of existence, will join forces to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Progresja music club on 8 December.

BOKKA have been surprising for 10 years with their unconventional approach to image, exuberant live shows and stylistic volleys - from the nostalgic debut spotted by Pitchfork, through the energetic album Don't Kiss And Tell, the cosmic Life On Planet B, to the apocalyptic Blood Moon. Remaining anonymous for the past 10 years, they have been operating on their own unique terms. They have 4 well-received albums to their credit, 3 Fryderyk nominations, and their work has been recommended by many foreign media. An original approach to creating their image and music, using unconventional instrumentation, often consisting of random objects, quickly became Bokki's trademark. The group's potential was instantly recognised abroad, e.g. at The Great Escape, Colours of Ostrava, Reeperbahn Eurosonic festival, as well as in clubs in Brussels, Prague and Budapest. The group is also recognised for the visuals of their music. The video for the song Walk on a Wire received the Grand Prix at the Polish Music Video Awards, an honourable mention at the Berlin Music Video Awards, and was the only one from Poland to be nominated at the Camerimage festival among artists such as Lykke Li, Harry Styles and Rammstein. The year 2023 marks the band's 10th birthday, which BOKKA is celebrating under the banner BOKKA Hits 10.

Since 2008, Warsaw-based Tides From Nebula has been writing history with sounds from the worlds of rock, prog rock and post rock. Over the years, Adam Waleszynski (guitar), Maciej Karbowski (guitar, keyboards), Przemek Węgłowski (bass guitar) and Tomasz Stolowski (drums) have been responsible for writing and playing these stories. As of 2019, there is no Adam in the band and it functions as a trio. If, when listening to TFN's music, you think of cosmic boundlessness or beautiful landscapes with seas and oceans in the background, these associations are most welcome, because the musicians of the Warsaw band are interested in this, among other things. The band had the opportunity to tour abroad and in Poland to work with Zbigniew Preisner himself, who produced their second album Earthshine. The album From Voodoo To Zen, released in 2019, was liked very much and reached as high as number three on the OLIS chart. As you can see, the sound film created by Tides From Nebula has a particularly sizable audience.
