Infos über Vorstellung
A travelling troupe of actors stops off in Prague in the middle of the 18th century to present a play about the most famous of all Fabulists: Baron Hieronymus von Münchhausen, or Baron Prášil, as Czechs call him.
In historical costumes, accompanied by chamber musicians and opera singers from the National Theater, with sounds created on stage, all acted out in front of classically painted backdrops, the Mad and Merry Men present the adventures of the Baron on his journey from a small village somewhere in Germany, across the Orient and up to the Moon.
Along the way, he meets such amazing figures as the alchemist Hermes Trismegistos or the knight of miserable appearance, Don Quixote; travels around the world in the chariot of the fairy king Map and discovers the Library of Alexandria. He will be accompanied by a host of eccentric characters, mythical creatures and dreamers. And again and again the Baron sees what holds the world together at its core, what has united all people throughout the ages all over the world: The Art of Storytelling.
It the will be the world wide first Stage Adaptation of the recently republished second original volume of the original Münchhausen stories by R.E. Raspe, in a more than suitable setting: The open-air theatre on Prague's Vyšehrad.
