The Three Rivers Young People’s Orchestra will perform on June 26 at 7:30pm.
For 50 years, Three Rivers Young Peoples Orchestras has provided music-loving students in Pittsburgh with the opportunity to rehearse and perform music at a high level. What began as one small ensemble for a few dozen students now serves hundreds of children each year from schools throughout the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.
In 1974, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra harpist Phyllis Susen founded a training orchestra for young musicians ages 13–18. The orchestra has thrived. In 1985, Symphonette (SYM) was formed for students ages 10–15. At that time, the organization was officially renamed the Three Rivers Young Peoples Orchestras (TRYPO).

Tchaikovsky – Smetana – Liszt
