Infos über Konzert

The Midnight will play at the Progresja club in Warsaw.

The songs of the American band awaken a retro-futuristic spirit that corresponds to the atmosphere of films and series inspired by 1980s pop culture. The Midnight will play in Warsaw in a concert line-up. The Midnight are driven as much by youthful romanticism and nostalgia for the youthful spirit of the 1980s as they are by an insatiable curiosity about the future. The duo - Tyler Lyle and Tim McEwan - are responsible for the catchy, danceable synth-pop-rock hits from albums such as Kids, Monsters and Heroes. The first was born in Atlanta, studied philosophy in Paris and wrote songs for other musicians when he returned to the States. The second comes from a family of Danish actors, practised as a drummer in bands from Copenhagen and honed his talent as a producer in the studios of London and California.

*'Tim comes from a different culture, has a different taste, a different kind of musical firmament,' says Lyle, 'but what we have in common is that we like good songs.' They met in a studio in Los Angeles - session work commissioned by other artists, became the start of an extremely passionate adventure. Within hours they had written the song We Move Forward , which provided the impetus for The Midnight's debut EP Days of Thunder, released in 2014. From their retro-futuristic debut Days of Thunder to their latest album Heroes, on which they combined a synth sound with inspirations from the music of The Police, Bruce Springsteen and Van Halen, the group have consistently won more fans around the world. They started by playing small clubs, after initial success they were signed to Odesza's record label Counter, and recently sold out a gig at London's Brixton Academy to an audience of 5,000. Meanwhile, The Midnight's live line-up has grown from a duo to a five-piece band. Their performances are a joyous, euphoric, emotional show, full of community uplift. *'Epic songs and intimate ballads,' says McEwan of the group's music. We try to find the middle ground and reconcile the ends of the spectrum; small stories connected by a big perspective.
