Youth Novels will visit Poznan's Pod Minogą Club as part of their spring tour.
Youth Novels is a Polish duo consisting of vocalist Anna Babrakowska and guitarist Emil Nowak. Their music oscillates from quasi-acoustic compositions, ambient soundscapes to broadly alternative music. In 2016, they released original material on their debut EP, entitled I Used to Wreck It All. Since its release, the band has performed at several major festivals: Open'er Festival in Gdynia, Spring Break in Poznań and Songwriter Łódź Festival. They have also supported bands such as Oh Wonder, Father John Misty, Seafret and Hooverphonic. Their songs have appeared in the series Hold Tight on Netflix and Under the Surface on TVN.
In early 2021 they released a self-produced single entitled What if, mixed by Chris Allen (RY X, Unkle) and edited by Zino Mikorey (Ólafur Arnalds, Nils Frahm). They also collaborated with Sam Thompson (The XX, Ellie Goulding) at Air Studios in London, where they recorded a rework of the track Skin with a live string orchestra. They also created the track Hands with Dutch producer and one of trance music's most popular pioneers, Ferry Corsten. The band proved to be a perfect fit for his new project, FERR. In April 2022, they released the Blue EP, which featured the single The Moon with a guest appearance by Iwona Skwarek, a Polish vocalist who is co-responsible for projects such as Rebeka or Shyness!.
