Informations à propos de concert

Concert organisé Fource Entertainment.
English singer-songwriter Lucy Rose is coming back to Prague. After her playing at the showcase festival Nouvelle Prague in 2013, she released two albums and became a true songwriter in its purest form.

In 2010, Lucy moved to London for studies. But instead she bought a guitar and started performing at open mic nights where Jack Steadman, the frontman of Bombay Bicycle Club, noticed her and asked her to sing back vocals on his band’s new album. Later, she was also singing with Razorlight, Manic Street Preachers or Ghostpoet.

Debut album Like I Used To came out in 2012 under Columbia Records and immediately became a huge success. Vogue magazine said: „one of indie music’s breakout stars for 2012“. Rose toured with Bombay Bicycle Club and Noah and the Whale across the UK, USA and Canada and her songs appeared on TV shows, such as Skins, Vampire Diaries and Girls.

Second record Work It Out is mapping Rose's development as a person and as a musician and was produced by Rich Cooper, notable for his work alongside Mumford & Sons or Tom Odell. But something seemed to be amiss. “I think I got caught up in the business side of things or too worried about ‘what radio needs’ or ‘what press wants’ and I started worrying too much about it and writing songs in a different frame of mind. Once the second album came out, I realized I should never have got caught up in all of that, because it really is nonsense, ” Rose says.

The opportunity to push back against the nonsense came in spring 2016 when the volume of tweets coming from Latin America and the realization that her most listened to city on Spotify was Mexico City gave birth to the seed of an idea. Offer her fans in Latin America a deal: “If you book me a gig, I’ll come and stay”. For two months she, her guitar and her backpack toured Latin and South America, playing free shows, staying with fans and “falling back in love with making music”. Based on this experience, a documentary film Something’s Changing was made, which later led to her third album with the same title.
