Adventní koncert: G. F. Händel – Chandos Anthems

The concert continues the successful Ensemble Inégal project begun in 2022, presenting another selection from a unique collection of 11 cantatas from Handel's peak compositional period, when the composer was in the service of James Brydges, Baron, later Duke of Chandos, from 1717 to 1720. These works bear witness to Handel's mastery and innovation in setting biblical texts to music. Despite the fact that these are enchanting works of quite extraordinary quality, they are still completely unknown to Czech audiences; it is likely that in some cases they will again be Czech premieres. The concert is part of the 17th edition of the Ensemble Inégal 2023 Subscription Series.
