Italian oboist Alfredo Bernardini appears in a concert on Thursday, 18th November, in the Suk Hall of the Rudolfinum. He will be joined by bassoonist Ondřej Šindelář and the string trio Opus Elocutio. The concert pays tribute to the tradition of Czech musicians, virtuosi and composers, who won praise in the heart of the Austro-Hungarian Empire – Vienna. The programme offers works by František Vincenc Kramář, Jiří Družecký, Johann Went and Austrian Michael Haydn. Bernardini and Šindelář play original instruments from early 19th century. Alfredo Bernardini is a professor at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and a well-established musician focusing on Baroque and Classicist music and period instruments. Ondřej Šindelář plays in the Czech Philharmonic but likes to spend his free time discovering early music and period instruments. With his ensemble Opus Elocutio, he has already appeared at the Lípa Musica festival.
