Festival Alternativa 2024

Festival Alternativa is an annual showcase of bold, inventive and dense music. With one of the longest traditions, since the early 1990s the festival has been trying to create an alternative to the unified roster of commercial festivals and to find unexplored lines between international and local artists. From the original dramaturgical intention of bringing leading representatives of the experimental, free-jazz and improvisational scene, Alternativa has moved towards a venture where artists with legendary or cult status work alongside emerging talents from the international and local scene. Above all, Alternativa is about the desire to find new angles in the context of music that is not afraid to step out of the box.
