Deerhoof

The legendary Deerhoof will visit Warsaw's Hydrozagadka.

A fixture of the contemporary experimental scene and one of the most adventurous and prolific rock groups of the 21st century, Deerhoof plays immensely catchy guitar pop with an almost classical melodic sensibility – and then tears it to shreds through eclectic arrangements, cut-and-paste composition and layers of noise and feedback, like hyperactive preschoolers doing a surf rock opera. Formed in 1994 by drummer Greg Saunier, soon joined by bassist and singer Satomi Matsuzaki, Deerhoof's line-up currently also includes guitarists John Dieterich and Ed Rodriguez. The band has released eighteen studio albums since, as well as a number of side releases, including collaborations with Zach Hill (Hella, Death Grips), Joanna Newsom, Ensemble Dal Niente and Wadada Leo Smith; their latest album is 2023's Miracle-Level, their first to be recorded in a studio and sung entirely in Japanese. Deerhoof are also noted for their commitment to the DIY ethos and anti-capitalist causes.
