Sóley

Icelandic art pop singer-songwriter Sóley will play at Warsaw's Heaven.

Born in Hafnarfjörður, Iceland, and with a loyal fan base in Poland, Sóley Stefánsdóttir began her solo career in 2010 with the release of the EP Theater Island. Sepia-tinged alt-pop ballads filled 2011's debut album We Sink and gained the artist worldwide acclaim. Since then, Sóley has released three more LPs and other works, spanning musical genres from dream-pop to experimental and progressive compositions for accordion and voice.

In 2021, she released the critically acclaimed album Mother Melancholia. The album was Album of the Year in the open category at the Iceland Music Awards and received three other nominations. The year she culminated with the release of Dream Is Murder, the second album recorded with Sin Fang and Örvar Smárasonen (múm). Currently returning from maternity leave, the artist is working on new material.

In her career, Sóley has also worked on music and sound for theatre, as well as films, radio programmes, dance works and short films. She is a lecturer in music composition at the Icelandic Academy of Arts.
