Sunnata (Sanskrit for emptiness) has been consistently and steadily building a following since their 2014 debut Climbing The Colossus. Combining sounds full of heaviness and dark psychedelia with restless, harmonious vocals, the band creates a unique and trance-like sound, described by the media as 'ritual heavy music'. Their monumental second album Zorya (2016) definitely increased their recognition, and the release Outlands (2018) took more of the 'ritual' out of 'heavy', consciously crossing genre boundaries and adding more psychedelia to take the listener into areas of melancholy and emptiness. Where will their fifth album lead to Chasing Shadows? We'll find out soon enough.
