Information about the concert
What do klezmer, Balkan, Greek and Turkish music have in common? The common denominator of these genres is the musical scale used in each of them, known as freygish. During the concert in Artus Court, it will be possible to explore its richness and diversity through the artists of the Freygish Orchestra.
During the Freygish Orchestra's concert, listeners will experience a diversity of musical cultures. They will be transported to a Jewish wedding, where sounds from Poland, Ukraine, Romania and Moldova resounded. They will also visit a Greek-Turkish kafenion, a meeting place where street music - rebetiko - was born a century ago. Arrangements of songs will be enriched with improvisation and surprising genre combinations, creating music full of emotions - both thrilling and lively, as well as full of nostalgia and emotion.
