Exploration of the Invisible Realms of the Sound Biosphere...
Sound, as a physical entity, continually reminds people through its practically unlimited permeability that perceiving the world around them as a cluster of clearly separate objects is impractical. Everything is interconnected with everything in a delicate weave. Sound blurs the boundaries between infrastructures, nature, and people. It penetrates beyond visual surfaces and reveals events that do not mirror what can be seen. Sound, vibration, thus becomes an indicator of change. Its detail in the place where refers to planetary scales.
Evening Schedule:
- 7:30 PM – Screening of Invisible Landscapes (48 min.)
- Ivo Bystřičan's film follows an essayist sonic expedition to the front line of the climate crisis.
- 8:30 PM – Discussion with Ivo Bystřičan (30 min.)
- 9:15 PM – Concert performance by Fyield (40 min.)
- Fyield is formed by musicians Václav Havelka, Pan Thorarensen (IS), and Kryštof Kříček. The album Future Landscapes was built on the foundation of sounds captured during expeditions in the Czech Republic and Iceland (contrasting countries in terms of CO2 production per capital) in collaboration with field recordists Magnús Bergsson (IS) and Sara Pinheiro (PT), and technology philosopher Lukáš Likavčan (SK).
- 10:00 PM – Concert performance by Shluk (40 min.)
- The sound performance is based on the collection of sound smog from the field. It explores specific zones in the Czech Republic through the sounds of their cultural and technological phenomena, which directly or indirectly contribute to global warming. A journey of sounds from the catacombs of Prague to the sound biosphere of the ARCHA+ space. Shluk is composed of Sara Pinheiro, Jiří Rouš, and Petr Zábrodský.
