Hide + Gertie Adelaido
Reviews
Information about the concert
Hide are an electronic duo based in Chicago. The pair create dark and heavy sample-based compositions using a combination of self-sourced field recordings and various pop culture and media references. Their music is textured, minimal, and powerful, giving raw vulnerability an opportunity to unfurl. Their work is honest, confrontational, powerful and thought-provoking. Hide's third album, Interior Terror further abandons traditional concepts of song structure in favor of splintered rhythms and fevered, immediate release. Expanding on previous themes of autonomy and empowerment, Interior Terror addresses and questions the corporeal and immaterial body in a physical and metaphysical sense. Turning to the dread inside, reflecting on the world, Hide gives voice to the power of destruction as a catalyst for hope, and to the collective experiences of those who've come before as a wellspring of power.
As support, Gertie Adelaido is the number 1 choice. A non-binary open channel, sound experimentalist, artist and meta-punk & ADHD-core creator. Experimental and for experimental too HC, but the final piece is an unique genre crossover and its expression of contexts. They scream, they sing, modulate voice, but most importantly they spread a message, fight for human and animal rights, all accompanied by harsh yet fragile melancholy. Gertie’s debut album will be out during 2024, but presented almost the whole album already when supported Xiu Xiu, Leya, Dreamcrusher or at Creepy Teepee, Fluff Fest, No Glucose Festival and also at Bike Jesus as a support for Pharmakon.
