Information about the concert
Esoteric trio Meth Math was formed from a combination of opposites of light and dark, joy and mourning. As they say of themselves, they are both "beautiful and nasty". Vocalist Angelicá Ballesteros and producers Bonasi Babies and Error.error met in the Mexican city of Hermosillo, where they grew up and started making music together. Their first EPs, Pompei (2020) and Mortal (2022) marked the nature of their sound, in which they experiment with reggaeton and gabber, hyperpop or deconstructed club.
Their debut album Chupetones was born out of the dichotomies that have always been present in their environment. It is the soundtrack of a gothic party to cry and dance to. The album's nine tracks are both an ode to heartbreak and an invitation into the deep darkness of a post-apocalyptic club. Chupetones means 'raspberries' in Polish, kiss marks that are both sweet and painful. Despite clear inspirations from the imagery and sound of acts such as Enya or Autechre and the spirit of Mexican pop stars Bela Nova, Gloria Trevi or Belinda, Meth Math's music comes straight out of the club dancefloor.
