Information about the concert
A Christmas concert featuring the band StayJ and Canadian-Irish duo Bookie Baker and their band will take place on December 22 at Underdogs'. Closing out the pre-Christmas season will be indie rock with big band elements and a mix of folk, bluegrass and jazz.
StayJ: Energetic performances and big band elements in an indie-rock band context. Their recent single Palette of the World was also the anthem of the Central European Jamboree. In the past year, the band has performed on the main stage of the Povaleč festival, where they shared the stage with Lenka Dusilova or Ventolin, at Park 360 during the Scout National Jamboree, and at Lucerna Music Bar for the Vanua2 album launch.
Bookie Baker & band: Indie folk duo from Canada and Ireland. Members Alex Montyro and Caolan O Neill Forde combine traditional folk music with an experimental sound palette and genres such as bluegrass, jazz and many more. From the beginning, Alex and Caolan's journey has been driven by a sense of adventure and a passion for music and storytelling. The collaboration began after Montyro opened a music venture in China's Liaoning province and O'Neill-Forde wandered there looking for musical compatriots in the far-off land. To the fury of local Communist Party officials, the duo soon found themselves packed with large crowds and, after being arrested during a live performance, subjected to multiple interrogations by local police. After being released and warned that they would never play music in the country again, they opened a map and considered their options around the world.
